Mandy Steele was elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 2022 to serve the 33rd Legislative District in Allegheny County.
A graduate of the University of Pittsburgh and a mother of four, Mandy has founded and led two nonprofit organizations and, in 2019, became the first woman and first Democrat elected to the Fox Chapel Borough Council. Before taking office, she spent years leading bipartisan efforts across more than 20 southwestern Pennsylvania communities to address environmental and public safety challenges. She also spearheaded grassroots initiatives to build green infrastructure that manages stormwater and protects neighborhoods from flooding and landslides.
As a state representative, Mandy is focused on restoring the Allegheny Valley to the thriving economic hub it once was. She is committed to keeping communities clean and healthy by reducing air and water pollution, advancing cleaner energy solutions, and creating good-paying jobs.
Born and raised in O’Hara Township with her four siblings, Mandy grew up hearing stories of relatives who helped build the steel bridges spanning the Allegheny River. From her family, she learned the values of service, pride in community, and giving back. Today, she and her husband are raising their four children near where she grew up, instilling those same values. Their kids help care for a small backyard farm with goats, chickens, and guinea fowl, and are learning to hunt, fish, and look out for their neighbors.
With deep roots in the district, Mandy understands the hardworking families who built these communities—because they are her family and this is her story. She knows that by bringing people together and working hard for District 33, we can once again make the valley a vibrant economic center for generations to come.
